Tape wound core

The tape wound core magnetic core is approaching the configuration of the perfect magnetic circuit.

The magnetic flux path through the toric form allows losses and leaks to be minimised, and reduces the magnetic force needed to product a flux in the material.

The toroidal core configuration also gives the advantage of the automatic shielding of external magnetic fields.
